Specialized care, close to home — and worth the drive if you're not.
Physica Medica is a one-on-one physical therapy clinic at 800 S Bond St in Baltimore. Every session is with a Doctor of Physical Therapy — no aides, no rotating staff, no cookie-cutter protocols. Patients come for prenatal PT, scoliosis treatment, postural correction, and soft tissue work that goes deeper than what most clinics offer.
Patients come from across Baltimore. Here's where many of them start.
Physica Medica draws patients from neighborhoods throughout the city and surrounding areas. Some are five minutes away. Many drive 20 or 30 minutes because they want a specific kind of care, not just a convenient one. Below are some of the communities we see most often — and the conditions that tend to bring them in.
- Patterson Park & Butchers Hill — Families and expecting mothers dealing with prenatal back pain, SI joint dysfunction, and postpartum recovery.
- Federal Hill & Locust Point — Young professionals and recreational athletes with sports injuries, IT band syndrome, and chronic tightness from desk work.
- Canton & Brewers Hill — Active adults managing plantar fasciitis, piriformis syndrome, and injuries that haven't resolved with previous PT.
- Fells Point & Harbor East — Patients seeking dry needling, cupping, or IASTM after standard treatment hasn't moved the needle on chronic pain.
- Hampden & Remington — Teens and adults with scoliosis looking for non-surgical options and postural correction work.
- South Baltimore & Riverside — Post-surgical rehab patients who want continuity — same DPT, every session, from week one forward.
It's not about location. It's about what you're not getting elsewhere.
Most patients who find us have already tried PT. It helped a little, or it didn't help at all. What's different here is the model: one provider, one plan, and enough time per session to actually work through what's going on. No 15-minute handoffs. No shared treatment rooms. The same DPT who evaluates you is the one treating you every visit.
Prenatal PT draws patients from across the city.
Back pain, pelvic pain, and SI joint dysfunction during pregnancy are common. Finding a DPT who specializes in treating them is less so. Patients come to Physica Medica specifically because prenatal physical therapy is a core part of what we do — not a service we offer on the side.
Learn more →Scoliosis patients often arrive after being told surgery is next.
If you've been told bracing or surgery is your only option, that's worth a second opinion. Schroth-informed scoliosis treatment focuses on posture, curve management, and movement — and it's not available at most general PT clinics in Baltimore.
Learn more →Postural correction for people who sit for a living.
Forward-head posture, rounded shoulders, and tension headaches that won't quit — these aren't just discomfort. They're movement problems with a root cause. We assess the mechanics, not just the symptoms.
Learn more →Deep Tissue & Sports Massage
Manual work at the depth athletes and chronic-pain patients actually need — clinical, not spa.
Learn more →No clipboard and a handshake. An actual assessment.
Your first visit starts with a thorough movement screen. The DPT will ask about your history, watch how you move, and identify what's actually driving your pain or limitation. You'll leave with a clear picture of what's going on and a realistic sense of what treatment looks like — including how many sessions you're likely to need.
You won't be handed off.
Every session at Physica Medica is one-on-one with the same Doctor of Physical Therapy. That means the person who assessed you is the person treating you. No surprises, no re-explaining your history to someone new.
Learn more →We'll tell you if we're not the right fit.
If your case needs something outside our scope, we'll say so directly. The free 30-minute movement screen exists for this reason — to figure out whether we're the right place for you before you commit to anything.
Learn more →Pancafit Stretching
Postural decompensation work using the Pancafit method — a European stretching system you will not find at most clinics.
Learn more →Wim Hof Method
Breathwork and cold exposure with Baltimore’s only certified Wim Hof Method instructor.
Learn more →Group Seminars
Small-group education on movement, breath, and recovery — for patients, athletes, and clinical referrers.

How far do patients travel to see you? It varies. Some patients are in the neighborhood. Others drive 20 to 30 minutes from across Baltimore because they're looking for a specific service — prenatal PT, scoliosis treatment, or dry needling — and haven't found it closer to home. Distance matters less than fit.

If you're not sure which service applies to you, that's exactly what the movement screen is for. You don't need to arrive with a diagnosis.

Can I receive multiple services in a single session?
Yes — and most patients do. Manual therapy, dry needling, cupping, and corrective movement are not standalone treatments here. They are tools in the DPT’s hands, used in whatever combination your case needs in the hour we have. You won’t be charged service-by-service.
How do I know which treatment is right for my condition?
You don’t have to. That’s the job of the movement screen. We’ll examine, ask questions, and build a plan based on what we find — not on which service you booked. If you’re problem-aware but service-unaware, that’s the right starting point.
Do all services require a physician referral?
No referral is required. Maryland is a direct-access state, so you can start any service here without one. Some insurers may require a referral for out-of-network reimbursement — we’ll flag that on the consultation if it applies to you.
